WHO WE ARE

The NW200 Association was established in January 2024 to help ensure the long-term viability of the International NW200, Ireland’s largest outdoor sporting event.

The event that has now become the International NW200 originated in 1929 and over the past 95 years it has become world famous, providing many decades of iconic motorcycle road racing in “a place where legends are made”.

The International NW200 is an event which allows visitors and locals to fully immerse themselves in the colourful sights, sounds and smells associated with a contemporary motorcycle racing paddock.

Surrounded by stunning scenery amidst the coastal towns of Portstewart, Portrush, and Coleraine, the laid-back yet secure arrangements offer everyone the chance to be up close with the world's best racers, personalities, and race teams. This is a unique experience that is exclusive to the Causeway Coast area of Northern Ireland.

The International NW200 has massively broadened its appeal in recent years by introducing a full race week festival, however, increasing costs and other challenges have resulted in almost preventing this vital and essential event from taking place.

Local businesspeople and professionals established the NW200 Association, they organise and manage the Association while being represented by a board of directors. The Association is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and will have charitable status in Northern Ireland.

The Association was formed to ensure the longevity of the event. The association aims to achieve this by raising funds to support the event via investment, development, sustainability, innovation, and succession, which are all crucial factors for providing stability and continuity.

Although being entirely independent, the Association has the full support of both the International NW200 management team and the Coleraine and District Motor Club.
